Time for a pre-launch update from YouBGM.
Good news! We’ve got everything moved to our new server environment..yeah! We’ve got our heads down and continue to test the heck out of the platform before inviting our VIP’s in.
But what we really want to chat about is…..
More Stats!
The recent NHL stat updates incorporated by Brad (our co-founder and mastermind behind MySportsFeeds – YouBGM’s data provider), will allow us to include even more stats in our daily contests, one of the many features that sets us apart from other daily fantasy hockey apps out there. Several new stats we’re adding to the DHF (daily fantasy hockey) mix are:
- Time On Ice (defencemen only)
- Faceoffs Won
- Take-aways & Give-aways
- Hits received
- Penalty drawn
- Penalty minutes fighting major (positive points)
The typical DFH scoring format has between 6 and 10 categories. At YouBGM we’re looking at including 20+ scoring categories!
Why so many categories
A downfall of Daily Fantasy Hockey is the myopic focus on goals, assists, and shots.

This doesn’t tell the whole story of a hockey player’s impact on a game. We wanted to include categories which help better reflect a player’s contribution in supporting roles. A player who wins faceoffs, takes hits, draws penalties and has a great fight should be rewarded!
Adding more scoring categories to our daily fantasy format helps identify more players that bring value to their team.
We’ve always stated that YouBGM is for hockey fans. We want to give you more opportunity to draft the players you know and love to watch. Let us know what you think?
